Who we are
We are a community-based collective (a not-for-profit incorporation), created by Fawkner Residents with a passion for health and the environment. We receive support from Moreland Council and Merri Health to bring fresh food to our suburb and are run by and for the benefit of our members/customers.
We source the bulk of our produce directly from growers and producers with values closely aligned to ours. We don’t care about making big profits, but we do care about wholesome, honest food that doesn’t cost the earth. We want to make ethical produce accessible and affordable.
The climate crisis and the global pandemic has highlighted more than ever the importance of local, sustainable, food systems. By supporting us you are playing your part in building a community-based food system right here in Fawkner.
Want to contribute?
Are you interested in helping FWC bring fresh, organic food to Fawkner?
FWC is primarily volunteer run – this means that we rely on the support of our community to ensure our produce gets from the farmer to Fawkner.
There are all sorts of ways you can help out – from volunteering a morning here and there to being on our committee.
See our Committee Roles for more information.
Let us know if you’d like to help in any way.
