Committee Roles
We are run by a volunteer committee. We always want to hear feedback from our customers – as a Collective, your voice is important to help us decide how we run.
We also need people in dedicated roles on the committee to take on specific tasks. These may be ongoing jobs that contribute to the everyday running of the Collective, or shorter term projects.
Read through our role descriptions below and if you can see a way you can help, get in touch!
Secretary
Marketing and Community Engagement (paid role)
We need to grow our customer base for the Collective to continue. We have a short-term contract position available for someone who can:
- Research and engage with local community groups to find out what kind of produce they’d like to source from us
- Implement a Google Ads campaign to improve our reach through social media
- Look at search engine optimisation for our website
- Research and recommend other methods of promotion to increase public awareness of our services and our customer base
- Engage with other local groups working in the food security space to find ways we can share resources
- Advise on integrated customer communications, including bulk email and SMS platforms
We are looking to complete this research and implement marketing campaigns by the end of 2022. A more detailed position description is available, and we can discuss a suitable fee based on scope of work and time required.
Communications Officer
Volunteer and Distribution Day Coordinator
The distro days don’t happen on their own! We need to order perishable produce, recruit volunteers and ensure enough people are on the roster, and prepare lists of customer orders.
The tasks for this role are concentrated in the week leading up to distribution day, usually held on the third Sunday of the month. Your feedback and contributions to the committee about ways to improve how the days run will also be valuable
Grants Officer
Grants are vital to community organisations. We need someone to research grant opportunities through Council and other resources, and put together applications for suitable grants. You will have the knowledge of the Committee at your disposal! We need to apply for a minimum of three grants each financial year, and the role will also assist with acquittal of ongoing Council funding.
General Committee Member
Our committee is a welcoming, dedicated team of locals committed to improving food security. We welcome expressions of interest to join as a general member, where you attend our monthly meetings and contribute to planning, decision making and operational improvements. You don’t need experience on a previous committee, just ideas and enthusiasm.
